How does the borehole quoting process work?

First, we need to do a borehole water survey to make sure that there is water under your property. Once we have done the water borehole survey and established that you do indeed have a suitable water source, we analyse the data from the borehole survey and prepare a quote. It is essential to note that we cannot provide you with an accurate quote if we did not do the borehole water survey.

When quoting you on your borehole we look at the following:

  • What is your desired usage per day (litres per hour)?
  • How large (diameter) must the shaft of the borehole be to provide you with your desired yield?
  • How deep do we need to drill to reach a suitable water source?
  • What type of rock and soil formations will we drill through? The type of rock or soil formation will affect the type of drill and the time it takes to drill.
  • The type and length of the protective casing we need to use
  • The measures we need to take to stabilise and secure the borehole shaft
  • How long we need to develop the borehole (the process of flushing the borehole with clean municipal water and air to produce particle free water.
  • The type of pump and filters you need to effectively extract the maximum amount of water per day
  • The type and size of water storage facilities and piping you want to make use of
  • The cost for doing a yield test and certifying the borehole
  • The cost for water analysis (should you require it)
  • The cost to connect the borehole to your building (house/ office block/ flat) in order to be off-grid and free from municipal accounts
